Undeserved Blessing

Hello From Greensboro!

We are getting settled and things are going MUCH better than expected.  Or I just set my expectations for the worst and are pleasantly surprised.  Either way thank you to so many for your prayers for a smooth transition. The kids are adjusting well and meeting new neighbor kids quickly.  School was off to a great start and an early one I might add.  They catch the bus at 7:10 because school now starts at 7:45 instead of 9:15.  At least the kids have less time to argue in the morning and more time to play in the afternoon.  We've had several neighbors drop by with cookies.  I've learned my way around fairly quickly and of course found Greensboro's best bakery called Maxie B's that was featured in Southern Living.  They offer over 25 flavors of cakes that you can buy by the slice and they are unbelievably AMAZING.  See, I just gave you one good reason to visit and you might have to twist my arm to take you there - I still have 22 more flavors to try.
We are in love with the new house and location and are blessed beyond belief!  We walked away from one house where problems were adding up, then low and behold we found this little piece of heaven for much less and it wasn't even on the market when we first started looking.  Our waiting and time in between were well worth it!

We've moved up a decade and in space going from a 1700 sq foot 70's split-level to a 2200 sq foot 80's ranch with an unfinished basement for not too much more than we sold our house for in Raleigh.  Did I mentioned God blessed us big time?  Many have asked for pictures and this was the easiest way to post them.  I'm still working on decorations and getting things hung so it's not quite how we like it yet, but it definitely gives you an idea.

The Antenna is classy don't you think?  Hey, it was prime time basketball season when we moved in.

Thank you Pinterest and The Intentional Home for creative and inexpensive ideas

Don't you love our table? We only had one which is currently in our dining room so this will have to do for now.

Oh Kitchen, I have so many ideas for you in due time

Hello - 80's, is that you?  What's that, you want your phone in the bathroom back?

As you can see we feel very blessed and undeserving of this piece of paradise.  We can't wait to open the doors to new and old friends.  The pictures are great, but we would love to have you visit and see for yourself in person.

  1. An amazing home with great features. I love the stately entry with the brick walls along the drive and the house itself has some great features - like those arches. I know you will have that kitchen looking great in no time! AND then I saw the yard and pond. What a wonderful place for your kids to play! Glad to see the chickens made it - I was wondering if they'd make the move!

  3. Wow, God has blessed beyond measure! Waiting on His timing really paid off! There are lots of "us" (friends my age) who would love a ranch like this in Raleigh (the builders don't seem to recognize the potential...) We are so thrilled for you & hope to visit sometime soon!
